Walk-a-thon 2005
What an experience!!!
Plan A: Party house was
booked well in advance.
Due to a "computer
mal-function" the club
house was DOUBLE BOOKED!
The other party would not
"budge" for us to use the
club house for 5 hours.
Plan B: Set into motion by
Jay, with the Parks &
Rec Department of the City
of Lubbock. To you
people who do not know our
part of Texas, WE HAVE
HAIL STORMS, and parts of
Lubbock suffered an
enormous hail storm a couple
of weeks before the
walk. All the canopy's
had been leased by Auto
Business, and Jay got busy
and found one in
Levelland. The canopy
was put up late Friday
evening June 10th in a 30
mile an hour wind with
GUSTS up to 40 mph.
We all watched in amazement,
as the canopy was raised!!
City provided handicap
"port-a-potties".
Now we are ready for Sat am.
Bright and early The
McBrooms, The Shinns, The
Burnetts, and Patsy Colquitt
arrive to set up
for "walkers".
Weather is pleasent, gentle breeze,
and we are ready.
We had a moderate turn-out,
but great time. Dr.
Dihenia and his staff are always
there to support us and help
make people aware
of Myasthenia Gravis.
We had a silent auction and
that is always fun.
Coach Bob Knight donated an
autographed basketball.
He has never turned down
our request for autographed
items to help raise
funds. He has also
donated another ball, that will be
auctioned on e-bay at a
later date.
To all that were unable to
attend, you can still send
your donations to NWTC MGFA
Marvin Burnett
P. O. Box 1148 Levelland,

OK PEOPLE
REMEMBER WE ARE GOING TO
HAVE A GOLF TOURNAMENT IN
2006, AND IT
WILL BE IN LUBBOCK.

for all the MG'ERS
who cannot walk.
